Lots of great food for thought here, Paddy. Thank you for putting this out here and fueling the conversation so generously.

New favourite word: humanure.

Thanks Lorraine! And thanks for all the work you do too. Humanure: the missing link between your toilet bowl and your dinner plate ;)

Thanks Isabelle! I hope you find the thought-food delicious, healthy and filling!

As you were saying about capitalism / socialism / what?, you might be interested in another of my essays, that goes into cosmolocalism in much more detail (and it's much shorter than the above one, though still fairly extensive): https://paddyleflufy.substack.com/p/cosmolocalism-the-key-to-our-economic

Yes! We are on the same page, my friend. Building towards BioRegional circular economies is such a big part of how we move towards a healthier planet. Thanks for introducing me to Cosmolocalism!

Excellent job on connecting the dots between large-scale systemic dysfunctions (economic, ecological, technological dimensions). I also love the concept of planetary pluriverse, and the bioregional cosmolocalism framework was new to me. We’ve been thinking about the socio-cultural aspects underlying the current state of the world and what could be cultivated on that front in the Second Renaissance project (https://secondrenaissance.net). Sounds like there is a lot of synergy between the approaches. Looking forward to reading more about your thoughts.

Thanks Sami. The pluriverse, bioregionalism and cosmolocalism have all been around for a while, but as far as I am aware they haven't really been put together like this before (or yet, in reality!). Your Second Renaissance project looks interesting, I will (aim to) check out the white paper when I have an opportunity. On 'more about my thoughts', check out my new essay, Finding our place in the human story, when you have time. It goes into some deeper / bigger picture thinking behind how to move forward at this moment in human history. https://paddyleflufy.substack.com/p/finding-our-place-in-the-human-story

Thanks, Paddy. I love the vision, and would welcome networking with like-minded others in the Cascadia Bioregion; more specifically the Rogue River Valley of southern Oregon, U.S.A. The biggest challenge, I suspect, is for each one of us consciously to shift away from the deeply conditioned fear/defense (and thus consumerist/combative) habit, evolving to the attitude of gratitude, respect and generosity, deep listening and creativity, trust and compassion and willingness. jim97520 at gmail dot com

Thanks Jim-el. I certainly agree that improving our openness and sense of connection, as you describe, is very important.

Are you aware of the Cascadia bioregion organisation, Regenerate Cascadia, and the Design School (a global bioregioners organisation that is very welcoming and good for 'finding the others')? Definitely worth getting in touch with them to find like-minded people.
